Will The Amazon Kindle DX Help Newspaper Sales?
May 13th, 2009
Newspapers are seeing a slump in their advertising revenue as businesses find other ways to advertise – using television, radio and the internet among other alternatives. It now seems as if some analysts – not to say newspaper owners and editors – are hoping that the new amazon kindle DX e-book reader might be a positive development for the papers. The DX is the largest of Amazon’s e-book readers to date and is specifically targeted at magazine and newspaper readers. Obviously the costs associated with providing their readers with an electronically delivered paper will be considerably lower than a newsprint version – so there may be an increase in reader numbers and long term subscriptions.
