Fair Market Value of Coins

December 6th, 2010

What is the meaning of fair market value of coins? Resources on coins, silver dollar coins, and all sorts of coins state that this is what dealers charge after they have marked up the wholesale price for the object.  Research is needed to do this. Any competent, fair information source on value of coins will have done research in order to find the lowest possible wholesale value of coins.  It is said that the markup depends on how rare the coin is. The coins will be competing with each other to see who can offer the lowest and most attractive price.  On the contrary, the scarcer the coins, the higher the dealer’s profit margin.  It is only fair.
