Promoting my Website

I have a website that I want to improve. I would like to get more traffic so I can make more sales. I offer jewelry and for thirty years I worked craft fairs to get sales. Now I would like to start selling online. I am sixty years old and I have never spent much time on the internet. My family keeps telling me I can sell my jewelry a lot faster if I work on getting my website promoted. My daughter told me I can use a Search Engine Marketing Blog to try to draw more traffic to my website.
