Layoffs and Recruiting

I suppose since my husband and I are in such good shape financially I really have not paid too much attention to the job market. Although it is devastating to hear about all the layoffs and the numbers actually seem a little hard to believe. For instance I think that a major company in our area just let off thousands of people. With that being said I would wonder how different recruiting companies and recruitment advertising is going to change. Are there places that really need employees or is it truly a market for employers who can get the best employees for a fraction of their actual costs.
