I Was Only Trying to Defend Myself

I was only trying to defend myself. A stranger came into my house in the middle of the night. I heard noises downstairs and grabbed my gun. When the man saw me, he grabbed a knife and ran towards me. I shot him without even thinking about it. I feel so horrible. I have never killed a man in my life. Now I am going to have to get a Los Angeles Federal Criminal Defense Attorney. I hope the court understands why I did it, and gives me a second chance. But I don’t know if I will ever be able to forgive myself.
